Westernport Water (Westernport - Bass) Bulk Entitlement Application
The Minister for Water has granted Westernport Water a bulk entitlement under the Water Act 1989, to allow it to extract up to 3 billion litres of water from the Bass River near Almurta each year.
This action is part of Westernport Water’s plan to secure water supplies for towns in the Westernport region such as Cowes, San Remo, Corinella, Kilcunda and Dalyston.
The Minister for Water signed the bulk entitlement Order on 21 August 2009, following a public submissions process. The entitlement was published in the Victorian Government Gazette, and came into effect on 27 August 2009.
