Statements of Obligations
Under sections 4i and 8(1)(a) of the Water Industry Act 1994, the Minister for Water, Environment and Climate Change made and issued Statements of Obligations to water corporations and licensees.
The Statements, which impose obligations on the water corporations and licensees in relation to the performance of their functions and the exercise of their powers, commenced on 1 July 2007.

Under sections 4i and 8(1)(a) of the Water Industry Act 1994, the Minister for Water also made and issued additional Statements of Obligations to clarify roles and responsibilities in managing the augmented Melbourne water supply system. These additional Statements commenced on 1 July 2009.
