Local residents pumped about new desal booster location

Water Minister Tim Holding today announced the Brumby Government has chosen an alternative site for the pipeline booster pump station for the Victorian Desalination Project.

A new site on the corner of Pound Road and McCormacks Road in Cardinia will now be used for the booster pump station in place of the Ballarto Road site originally proposed in the Environment Effects Statement (EES). Mr Holding said it was a great outcome for the local community.
