Plant site road closed

The Secretary to the Department of Sustainability and Environment has determined to permanently close the former government road between Lower Powlett Road and Mouth of Powlett Road.

The road has been been temporarily closed since 9 July 2008. Access will still be available for emergency access purposes if required and a new access route across the Desalination Plant Site will be developed as part of the project.

This decision has been taken pursuant to section 23(1) of the Project Development and Construction Management Act 1994 by the Secretary as the facilitating agency for the project under the Nomination Order dated 18 December 2007.
