Environmental watering in Northern Victoria
15 Jul 2008

Living Murray water from the Murray-Darling Basin Commission together with Victorian environmental water has targeted critical sites in northern Victoria including the Gunbower wetlands, and Lindsay-Wallpolla and Mulcra Islands. Victorian water is also being used at Little Lake Boort, and three wetlands in the Goulburn Broken catchment - Reedy, Black and Kinnaird swamps.

In the Mallee, where thousands of River Red Gums were at risk of dying in the next 12 months, the watering will provide respite - recent studies show that 70 percent of Murray River Red Gums are in decline or dying.
