Emergency Water Supply Points
Victoria has a network of Emergency Water Supply Points, which has been built in response to the impact of severe dry seasonal conditions and surface water scarcity in many regions.

The sites are accessible to the public and provide water for emergency stock and domestic purposes. Some sites are also equipped with fittings that allow firefighting vehicles to load water. The interactive map accessed from the above link provides details of about 300 sites in Victoria.
The network was refurbished between 2006 and 2009 by local committees, involving rural water corporations, local government, the Department of Sustainability and Environment, the Department of Primary Industries, the Country Fire Association, Victorian Farmers Federation and catchment management authorities.
