Conditions

All systems must be installed by a licensed plumber, include a PIC certificate, and have receipts for greywater system and subsurface irrigation components and be compliant with EPA publications 891.2 and 884.1.

Greywater systems may require a council permit, please check with your local council for its requirements.

Treatment Type Greywater Systems

All eligible Treatment Type Greywater systems are listed on the Environment Protection Authority website. 

These systems are listed under the headings of Greywater Only and All Wastewater or Greywater.

Note that only systems that treat greywater only are eligible for a Water Smart Gardens and Homes Rebate.
