Recycled Water for Industry

The use of alternative water sources like recycled water and stormwater will help secure sustainable water supplies for Victorian industry.

In the 2007/08 Victorian Budget, the Government committed $29.6 million in funding to support recycled water and stormwater projects for non-residential water users. These projects include:

  • The Altona Industrial Recycling Project (Stage 1)
  • Recycling projects at Australian Vinyls and Qenos
  • Westernport Water Recycling Project
  • Frankston Recycling Project
  • The Werribee Vision
  • The Murray Goulburn Co-operative Recycling Project at Leongatha
  • BlueScope Steel Potable Substitution and Recycling scheme

Increasing recycling is a major component of the Victorian Government's Our Water Our Future plan.
