Recycled Water for Industry
The use of alternative water sources like recycled water and stormwater will help secure sustainable water supplies for Victorian industry.
In the 2007/08 Victorian Budget, the Government committed $29.6 million in funding to support recycled water and stormwater projects for non-residential water users. These projects include:
- The Altona Industrial Recycling Project (Stage 1)
- Recycling projects at Australian Vinyls and Qenos
- Westernport Water Recycling Project
- Frankston Recycling Project
- The Werribee Vision
- The Murray Goulburn Co-operative Recycling Project at Leongatha
- BlueScope Steel Potable Substitution and Recycling scheme
Increasing recycling is a major component of the Victorian Government's Our Water Our Future plan.
