How it Works
There are three stages to the Program:
1. Site assessment
- An onsite assessment is made by a water efficiency auditor of all indoor water using facilities to identify and quantify water consumption and potential for savings.
- Water consumption data, supplied by your local water business, is collated and analysed as part of the overall assessment.
- A priority list of water saving recommendations is developed.
2. Report
Findings from the assessment are presented to your school in a report which includes:
- Recommendations for reducing indoor water use and hot water energy costs.
- Costs of implementing water efficiency measures with estimated pay back period.
- A list of all other water efficiency and conservation measures in priority order.
3. Implement
- Priority one recommendations are installed by a qualified plumber up to the maximum number of water efficiency measures (see brochure for more information).
- The installation of water efficiency measures takes within 2-4 weeks of the initial assessment by the program manager (subject to access to the school).
Accreditation
Upon completion of the Program, schools will receive official recognition as a Water Saver School.
