About the Fund
The fund builds on the $10 million Stormwater and Urban Water Conservation Fund launched in 2004, which funded 66 projects that demonstrate approaches for saving drinking water.
Fund Objectives
- Reduce demand on drinking water (for uses other than drinking)
- Support the use of water that is fit-for-purpose while protecting public health and the environment
- Significantly improve the integrated management of water resources.
Rollout
Demonstration projects that potentially have wider application and that could lead the way for others will be sought through two rounds of funding:
Round 1 (2008) closed on 29 May 2008.
Round 2 (2009) opening date to be announced.
