About the Fund
Project Categories
Eligible project categories:
- water supply security improvements
- water supply quality improvements
- new water services
- septic tank upgrades
- small town wastewater solutions
Evaluation Criteria
- Funds are to be used for the implementation phase.
- All proposals are expected to have a developed business case.
- Funds will provide 1:1 matching funding up to $1 million per project.
- Funds are open to water corporations and local Government in rural areas.
- The proposed projects should meet the following fund objectives:
1. Results in service improvement
2. Provides value for money investment
3. Provides public and environmental health protection.
Registration of Interest
Water corporations and regional councils developing water supply solutions and implementing domestic wastewater management plans are invited to submit a registration of interest for funding accompanied by a business case.
There will be three rounds of funding available for individual applications.
Round 1Round 1 is now closed.
The following eight water supply and wastewater projects were funded under this round:
- Walwa sewerage scheme
- Bemm River sewerage scheme
- Avoca desalination plant
- Eskdale water supply scheme
- Aspley wastewater improvement project
- Goroke wastewater improvement project
- Harrow wastewater improvement project and
- Snake Valley sewerage project
Opening date: Friday, 13 November 2009.
Closing date: Thursday, 17 December 2009.
